Following Promptings Brings Blessings

This week was amazing!!!!! We have an investigator who practically asked us to baptize him!!!! He is so ready to follow the example of Christ! He has overcome a lot of sorrow in his life, and he told us that following the Lord has brought the most happiness in his life. His granddaughter Priscilla is being taught by the English sisters, and she is getting baptized in a few weeks as well!!!! It is amazing how the Lord prepares the hearts of His people. I am blessed with the opportunity to bring the blessings of the Gospel into the lives of God's elect children!!!!
We are teaching a lady named Maria. She was a referral, and her husband is actually the one that told us to come back! He was a Protestant preacher in Mexico, so he likes to fight with us. It's hard to teach with the Spirit, when the Spirit is not present.....On Saturday he was distracted by something, and we were able to teach Maria, and answer her questions. I followed the promptings of the Spirit, and I was able to teach and give her inspired answers completely in Spanish!!!! The Spirit obviously touched her heart, and she was excited to come to church, and that we had gotten a ride for her. Suddenly, her husband (he is a nice person, he just likes to argue) told her that he didn't want to go, so she couldn't go to church either. It was such a bummer. But her testimony is so strong, she loves reading the Book of Mormon! She asks so many questions, and whenever I bare testimony to her she gets so excited!!! I know that the Lord has prepared her!!! I can't wait to see her as a temple worker in hopefully a year from now!!!
Our other investigator Alma, has such a strong desire to be baptized, but she is not married. :( It is so sad, because she is practically a member! She offered the prayer a few days ago, I was floored!!!! It was one of the most humble and beautiful prayers I have ever heard!
Following the promptings of the spirit was my goal for this week! I have such a strong testimony that if we follow these promptings the lives of others will be blessed!!! I felt awkward at times, with my halting Spanish, but I notice when I speak with the Spirit, they are able to understand. The Spirit speaks to their hearts, and I am just their to invite them! This is an amazing responsibility and calling!!! I'm so grateful!!!
Our 91 year old investigator learned about the Plan of Salvacion Saturday! Now THAT was a fun lesson. He is hilarious! This is his trademark line, "When are you girls coming back. What?! What if I'm dead by then?!" (All in Spanish of course).Oh.....And he decided not to wear pants to the lesson Saturday..... That was super awkward.....
This week I challenge y'all to follow every single prompting you get from the Spirit!!! You WILL see miracles! The Lord uses us as tools to bless the lives of His other children!!!!
I love you all!!!!!! Have an amazing week!

Crazy Week of Miracles!!!!

We have an investigator with a baptismal date!!!!! She is so amazing, and I love her!! Her father and sister are recent converts, and her dad is actually now the Gospel Principles teacher! I'm so grateful for the opportunity Heavenly Father has given us to teach her!!!
I went on my first exchange! It was a whole day in Boulder City! We had 20 street contacts, which was 5 more than our goal!!! It was exciting to talk with EVERY SINGLE person we saw! I really learned that you can never know who the Lord has prepared to accept the gospel! So many people, who were super mean to us at first, accepted our invitation to pray with them, or set up appointments, or said that they would come to church with us! The members who came out with us were also so amazing. One of the members was a convert of 40 years!! She had such a strong testimony, and it was great to hear her conversion story. On that day I was able to bear my testimony about baptism, and address one 12 year old girl's concerns. The spirit was so strong, and I felt him guiding me to ask her certain questions, so I could figure out why she was apprehensive about being baptized! We set a date with her, and her 7 year old sister is so ready to be baptized, it's crazy!!! I felt more intune with the spirit than I ever have before, I bore my testimony to seriously every person we talked to! The Lord helps us to overcome our fears! I really felt so blessed! I know that the Lord LOVES ALL of His children, and I have the sacred duty to preach His gospel!!!
We also have this amazing family that is coming to church! They have been coming for the last 3 weeks, I KNOW that they have been prepared to accept the restored Gospel. We haven't gotten the chance to teach them yet, but we are praying for a miracle this week.
I can now have a kind of conversation in Spanish!!!! It is amazing! I'm so grateful!!!!
This week I encourage y'all to pray about a question you have, and then search the scriptures to find an answer! I know that the Lord will guide us, and He will help us.
This week I read a lot about the Savior's atonement! It amazing, that no matter what we are going through, or how hopeless we feel, we have Him. He knows us, He loves us, and He is our best friend!!! I'm so grateful to know that because of Him we can have eternal families, live with our Father in Heaven again, and be forgiven for our wrong-doings.
I love you all!!! Have a great week!!!! <3

Hola From Las Vegas...Specifically Henderson, Searchlight, and Boulder City!!

So my first week in the field has been no stop amazing!!!! I'm seriously exhausted by the end of the day, but I am extremely happy!!! It is weird to testify and teach real people in espanol! But my trainer is so great, and helps me through the lessons!!!
We taught a 90 year old this week, he is a mean atheist. But his wife is so incredibly sweet! I can't wait to teach them again!!!
We ate dinner this week with a Cordoba!!!! She said that is the proper way to say my last name.... Awk.
Everyone in the Spanish branch gawks at me when I attempt to speak spanish. It is hilarious, but I really have improved in these few days! Being embarrassed will do that to you apparently.
I love love love the people here. I love Spanish. I love this Gospel. I love this area. Pretty much I never want to leave!
There are so many mountains here, it's crazy!!! We are totally going to climb one, before the transfer is over!!!!
This week I've been studying the lessons, more than just reading in the Book of Mormon. I have learned so much by planning and teaching!!! I encourage y'all to read about the Restoration, and pray about it. I know that this is the true restored Gospel on the earth today! Our Father in Heaven loves us.
On the plane Hermana Jaedike and I talked with a lady for entire 2:45 plane ride. (Shout out to Tiffany Whitney, who may be a new Facebook friend!!!!) It was amazing!!!! I love talking to people, and feeling the spirit prompt me to say certain things, and to bare testimony even if I feel like it would be awkward. I know that as you follow the promptings of the spirit, you will see miracles, and you will speak the words that Heavenly Father wants you to say!!!!
I love my mission. I have so much appreciation for the people here, and for all the amazing member work that they do. We have a huge area to cover, and we are the only two how speak Spanish, which is quite intimidating!!!! I am so excited to bring all these people to the knowledge of our Savior Jesus Christ!!!
I love you all!!! Choose the right, remember who you are, and try to represent what you believe!!! Others will learn from your ejemplo!!!
