so during our adventures we found ourselves in a part of our area that neither of us had ever been to and that we had no potentials in, so we decided to walk around and we spotted a Hispanic looking house that we decided to knock in, we asked if Pedro lived there, the lady was really confused because Pedro didn't live there, but we introduced ourselves as missionaries, she told us she had talked to missionaries years ago, but she had moved and that she hadn't seen any missionaries since then, well we invited her to learn more and set up an appointment for the next day, as we were walking away she told us that she was glad that Pedro gave us the wrong address, because that way she got to meet us, when we came back the next day she told us how when we came knocking at her door she had a strong feeling of peace and that this is what she needed in her life, it was the best moment of my mission!
later in the week , we were walking around and I notice a sad looking guy sitting on a rock and I remembered a training about talking to everyone because we don't always know what they are thinking and what they need, so we went up to talk to him, he told us his whole life story and how his girlfriend had kicked him out, we didn't really know how we could help him, so we called the English elders in the area and see if they could, as we were calling them a lady came and started telling us that he was probably lying to us and that we shouldn't fall for his story and then they started to argue and swear at each other and to stare each other down it got kind of heated, the lady walked away with some threats and after talking to the guy we walked away first and soon got caught up with the lady, when we saw her she was talking to 2 big guys that looked like they were from the mafia aka. scary looking, and then she tells us that she saved us from that guy, so we told her thanks and just walked away
This week we had exchanges, i can't say I was impressed with my new Sister Training leader, it might have to do with the fact that she DIDN'T TALK TO ME the whole exchange!!! it was very interesting, i like my area better, and it's practically the same area, we did have a really cool lesson though, it was with a Hispanic family (that's probably why it was cool) the guy thought i had been catholic before and he asked me what made me change religions, then i told him i was raised Mormon, and he was kind of disappointed because i wouldn't be able to understand him, but them i told him just like he had been raised catholic i was raised Mormon, the only difference was that i actually practiced my religion, that got him thinking i talked to him for some time, and got him to commit to going to church, after the lesson the STL was so impressed, apparently they can never get him to commit to anything, I don't think this English Sisters really know how to deal with Hispanics #thestruggle
Hope everyone had and amazing week and enjoy your labor day
LOVE y'all
